Leave Me the Fuck Alone Protection Ritual
When someone’s constant noise, entitlement, or lingering presence is taking up space in your chest.
What this ritual is for
A ritual cannot physically banish a person or control their choices. What it does is terminate your energetic hospitality. It marks the precise instant you stop welcoming their chaos into your headspace.
What you need(4 items)
- A single black candle (or any dark candle)
- Coarse sea salt or kitchen salt
- A scrap of torn paper and a black pen
- A fireproof dish or small ceramic bowl
Practical substitutions
You don't need to buy specialty supplies. Use what's in your home.
- →No black candle? White candle, or simply a bowl of salted tap water.
- →No salt? Black pepper, rosemary, or pure cold tap water.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Name the drain plainly
Write the person’s name, initials, or the specific dynamic on the paper. Do not write a monologue. Just write the name and the exact boundary: 'You do not have a seat at my table anymore.'
Cast the perimeter
Pour a small circle of coarse salt around the base of the fireproof dish. Salt is an ancient symbol of preservation, permanence, and sealing an edge. As you lay the circle, inhale slowly. Acknowledge that everything outside this boundary belongs to them, not to you.
Sever the feed
Light the candle. Fold the paper away from you three times—never toward your body. Hold the paper over the fireproof dish, touch the edge to the flame, and drop it into the dish. Watch it turn to carbon.
Seal the quiet
Let the ash cool completely. Blow out or snuff the candle with deliberate finality. Flush the ashes down the drain or toss them into the outdoor trash. Wash your hands up to the elbows with cold water.
Journal & Reflection Prompt
“Where in my daily routine did I leave a door cracked open for this person simply out of guilt or habit?”
Safety Notice
Never leave burning candles or ash unattended. Ensure the dish is heat-resistant. If you are experiencing harassment or stalking, utilize legal and safety resources alongside personal boundary work.
